International Festival and Covid – 19
TO THE PARTICIPANTS
OF THE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH THEATRE FESTIVAL
HELD BY TEATRO RUMORE
IN VIAREGGIO, 16 – 21 JUNE 2020
Some of the participants correctly tried to get in touch with us because of some worries due to the corona virus. Talking together is the best thing to do, so we’re glad they did.
In Viareggio – and in this area – there are no cases of Covid – 19 at the moment, in fact the Carnival of Viareggio yesterday took place (with tens of thousands of people), schools are open and so on. The most serious cases of patients with Covid – 19 in Italy are a few and they are mostly very old people with previous illnesses. Some other people far from here (a few children too) took it but mostly with no serious consequences.
Although we are optimist, scientists at the moment can’t predict how long the worldwide warning will last. At the moment, festivals, concerts and shows have been suspended only for a few weeks and only in some area of Italy far from here.
So we decided:
1) to keep the Festival going, unless, of course, there will be cases of Covid – 19 here in town or in the nearby, and you will be immediately warned.
2) The deadline of 28 February to show us the tickets is extended to March 31 (April if needed), so we can keep updated and see how things go.
Our mind is to protect our and your health, our most precious thing, if a real danger will be present, but, if this is not the case, to keep positive projects going. Talking about the economic side, we suggest you to add to your tickets an insurance in case you need to cancel the flights after buying them.
